we had a nice cup of tea last night with a dear sweet lady named Kristin, one of our youth group leaders and she has a big heart for those lil jr highers, many oh so fun things in the works with those junior whipper snappers. we played ticket to ride and James made this face right before he won. like super big time won
it’s such a gift to be able to think on other people’s behalf (like our youth) and be able to implore and ask God what His heart is for them. events are always so fun- and needed! I mean cause um honestly, what’s the point if we can’t have fun?? but when you boil it all down, what’s at the heart of everything we’re doing? and that’s love…I’m not going to get all “one love” on you right now, but the Bible clearly tells us that if we don’t have that, we don’t have anything. If I’m doing something to get all the “rules” right or appear to be of a good moral standing, well who the heck cares! And that’s what I want our heart to consistently reflect for those kids, that apart from all those things we might’ve done or will do, the center of it all is God’s great love for us, and oh if I only knew just how great and wide it really is! Oh what! That’s some serious love, peoples!
But the goal of our instruction is love from a purt heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. 1 Timothy 1:5
