5 years of Emma

This Labor Day weekend, we celebrate our little Labor Day arrival, Emma! My on-time twin (came on her due date, Labor Day) which was both ironic and wonderful all at once. I cannot believe you, my love, are already 5!

Emma is a loving, charming, adorable little lady with big puppy dog eyes when she decides to use them 🙂 She has always made life easier and sweeter, the most easy going girl. She loves fun, friends, little figurines, using her imagination, and is the best conversationalist. She really sees people, no matter age or walk of life, and can connect with them. I admire that about her so much.

She loves to play puppy dog, unicorn, baby cicada (truly, and yuck lol), and horsies. Emma adores her family, will literally weep with you or laugh with you, whatever emotion you might have. And she feels it. As a baby, her eyes were so captivating, she felt so wise, even though she was probably just making a BM. Regardless, she is like that now! Wise beyond her five little years.

We are so blessed to enjoy Emma each day, she is a true highlight and brings us all so much love, comfort, laughter, and joy. I hope her next year is filled with wonder, growth, and all the giggles 🤭 we love you Emma!

Emma is three!

My little love turned three earlier this month. These toddler birthdays are truly the sweetest! The realization that they are the special birthday person is pure joy, and the siblings excitement just made it that much more fun. Emma has been easy peasy happy since the day she was born. We always talk about how spoiled we were with the easiest third child. She would go anywhere, sleep anywhere, nurse anywhere, and would let me wear her at any point. It’s hard to believe how obvious their personalities are right from the start, and this was the case with Emma. The last year we have seen her completely become a little girl, no longer a toddler. We still call her one of the babies, but she is a little girl in every sense.

Emma is/has been 2! Plus other thoughts

I’m so behind. So so behind. I am troubled by my behind-ness (a questionable adjective). I am two months late for this birthday post. So late, in fact, that I’m now a day late to my own birthday post (the horror). But here I am, you guys. I can’t stop, won’t quit now. Birthday posts are terrifyingly par for the course around here, and of course, by that I mean that it’s pretty much ALL I’ve conceivably been able to eek out Continue reading “Emma is/has been 2! Emma at five months

This girl is five whole months!! She is growing in her interactive ness, getting so tall in my arms and holding her body up so much (even though tummy time is her least favorite on the daily to dos). Emma loves being anywhere in the vicinity of her sibs.. Kate is always handing her toys and hugging her and just saying hi. Luke will find her at the opportune moment and just make faces with her, she loves that. She loves to be on my arm/hip/forearm/shoulder/whatever! As long as she is cuddling and in the action.

She loves to cuddle.. she will stay in one position in my arms, very still and very sweet. She’s been chattering since the start and is still pretty loud with much projection. She’s still a great nurser and is prone to holding my shirt or stroking my shoulder when she does (bahhh 😭). Definitely had a bit of a sleep regression these last weeks but she’s pushing through and we had a couple few good nights even with the wake ups. Oh lawd we love this girl.

Emma is one month!

I am so thankful for this sweet girl who, aside from some seriously painful toots over the last few days, has given us a gentle welcome back to newborn phase! A few things about her.. 🙂

She is already almost 10 pounds, yeah! She is an amazing eater! There have been some seriously drop-the-mic bowel movements.

She is about to squish out of her newborn clothes yeah girl! Also sad.

Loves her tummy sleeping.

Loves hearing the voices of her siblings, dad and grandma!

Gave us a few real smiles so far, trying to capture one because those toothless little grins are the tops.

And baby makes five!

A family of five, that is 🙂 Sooo here we go! Our third small person is on the way. I’ve actually found it a little hilarious to try and figure out unique ways to share each pregnancy. With Luke, we were very choosy and careful about how and when we shared, and unknowingly kinda secretive. I think we just didn’t know what to do in hindsight! With Kate, we were further along when we confirmed everything, so we felt like there wasn’t much to wait on. Continue reading “And baby makes five!”
